Fairfield by Greenleaf beginning!

This is out first half scale dollhouse! I was nervous to take the plunge but loved the layout of the house and the PRICE TAG of the kit!!!

I have never dry fit a house before but after reading other suggestions on building half scale I decided to try it. We set up the house with painters tape and carefully labeled the rooms. It also became very apparent that we needed to open some areas up.

We changed the layout of the house to optimize flow and play space. The stairs were designed to go the other direction with a wall on either side. Currently the stairs are NOT glued in fully, they are tacked in place until we decide if this is their final location. The room to the right was designed as the kitchen. It will be the formal living room that opens to the front hall. The kitchen is now to the left.

The red arrow points out a fun trick. We paint the opening of the window to prevent having to meticulously paint later!

This is the house after we wallpapered the inside and glued the house together. This red arrow points to our major third floor change. The designed tower room will now be open and connected to the bathroom instead of being closed off. Stay tuned for more! It will be the location of the bathtub complete with a starry night sky ceiling!

Welcome to chaos zone!
